Nothing is quite as beautiful as smooth, wrinkle-free skin.
Unfortunately, as we age our skin begins to show the effects of the sun, wind and time. Fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes begin to show.
Who are the best candidates for Portrait skin regeneration?
- Those that would like tighter facial skin and a more youthful appearance.
- Those that would like to improve their skin tone or pigmentation.
- Those wishing to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
- Those wishing to improve their acne and acne scars.
Q.: How does the Portrait Plasma System work? A.: Portrait Plasma is not a laser. Unlike other skin rejuvenation treatments that ablate the skin, the Portrait Plasma system does not ablate tissue, leaving the skin surface intact. The Portrait system’s computer-controlled hand piece transfers the nitrogen plasma energy onto the skin without any direct contact or heat charring, causing a very controlled thermal treatment.
Q.: What is the Portrait treatment like? A.: Portrait skin regeneration can be used to treat the entire face in about 45 minutes or just a selected area in as little as 5 to 10 minutes. This simple procedure is performed here in our office under topical anesthesia.
Q.: What kind of improvements can I expect to see? A.: You will see improvements in skin texture and tone, reduction in pore size and reduction of fine wrinkles at lower levels of treatment as well as reduction of deep wrinkles at higher levels of treatment. New healthier collagen growth will improve contours and enhance your overall appearance.
Q.: How many treatments will I need? A.: Dr. Kagan will recommend an appropriate treatment regimen for you. At higher energy levels you will need only 1 treatment. More treatments may be needed depending on your desired outcome, your skin condition and the level of improvement you are seeking relative to downtime.
Q.: What if I don’t have time for healing? A.: There is an option called Very Low Energy treatments using Portrait technology. Plasma skin regeneration using the multiple (4 to 6 treatments) low-energy treatment technique allows significant successful treatment of photo damaged facial skin with minimal downtime. Results are comparable to a single high-energy treatment, but with less healing time. Typically downtime is usually 1 day. Very low energy plasma is a safe, quick procedure offering high patient satisfaction with mild to moderate improvement and no downtime.
Q.: Can Portrait be combined with other treatments? A.: During your consultation Dr. Kagan will advise you as to the best way to include treatments such as Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport, Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse or Sculptra with Portrait.
Q.: How long will it take before I see improvement in my skin? A.: You will begin to see improvements in your skin shortly after your treatment and these improvements will become more dramatic over time. Some studies report continued improvements for up to a year following treatment.
